Newmarket Story Project
Newmarket’s 300th Anniversary of receiving its charter from the Crown is in 2027. As part of the celebration, a group of volunteers has been interviewing long-time residents, to learn about what their life was like in the past and what the town was like in the 1940’s-1980’s. We are creating a book with these stories, along with pictures of the town and the people over the years. The town videographer has been videotaping the interviews and will make a documentary highlighting the most memorable stories.
This is an ambitious project, which we hope to complete by August of 2025. Before that time, we need to raise at least $10,000 for the costs involved in publishing the book and creating the documentary. We are looking for sponsors at different levels who will become our partners in this endeavor.
