Tell us a little about yourself?

I live in Lee and am married to my very amazing husband Greg. Greg and I grow our own vegetables and make or own sauces, relishes, pickles etc. this is something we really enjoy doing especially knowing where our food comes from. We also travel quite a bit in and out of the United States and absolutely love to camp and hike there is so much beauty in this world.

What is your business?

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist. I am coming up on 14yrs in this profession, I started out in spa’s which was a very rewarding experience to learn and grow working with clientele. Roughly 5yrs ago, the last spa I was working at in Newmarket closed, this is where I thought to myself that I could venture out and do this on my own with the experience I have gained. I wanted to stay in Newmarket or close by to keep my clients from having to travel out of their usual range. This is where I created Zentropia and am proud to be a business owner in this amazing town.

Why did you join the NBA? The Board?

I heard of the NBA and was told by joining it would be a great way to get my business going and build more clientele through the publicity. One day a women on the board asked if I would like to go and have a cup of coffee at Crackskulls to discuss how the NBA could help me, this is where I met Lisa Kesslar. We had a great discussion and next thing I knew I was hosting a mixer and from from there I was sitting at GoodJuJu with three amazing ladies discussing an up and coming event “Shop Small Saturday”. I went around town handing out posters and meeting business owners. Lisa then came to me and said that I was unanimously voted onto the board of the NBA and when I had to be at my first meeting…it was a bit of a surprise. Now a little more than a year later I am very happy with the boards decision and what we stand for and what we stand for is how best we can help our community, businesses, rec center and schools with forward progress and to help make Newmarket a place where people want to be.

What do you like best about the NBA?

What I love best about the NBA is that we truly care and want Newmarket and surrounding communities to succeed.

What do you hope to accomplish as an NBA board member going forward?

Things I would like to accomplish as a board member is eventually getting to know all the members of the NBA. Wether its having a cup of tea or talking at an event I want to hear your opinions of how we can help our members and create resolution’s moving forward, all questions matter.

What do you like about Newmarket?

I lived in Newmarket about 15yrs ago before buying our home in Lee. In that 15yrs I have watched this town grow and evolve in leaps and bounds. The people and businesses of Newmarket make it a must see destination.

What do you think are some of the promising opportunities for the NBA?

Promising opportunities of being a member of the NBA is going to mixers, events and businesses to meet, learn and discuss your business and ideas to others. To be heard and make yourself known with positive publicity.
